The Installation Process
Here you will find the process of how we install Artificial Grass, whether you'd just like to know, or have a go yourself.
The Layout
Planning your artificial lawn is essential to get the best results, but it doesn’t need to be difficult. Here’s a few things to remember:
-
Artificial grass comes in 2m and 4m width rolls – choose the right one for you
-
The grass pile has a direction to it. We would recommend you lay it with the grass leaning either towards the house or seating area.
-
By drawing a diagram of your layout you’ll get the best results. Try to minimise the number of joins you’ll need.
Dig Up
Using a shovel, dig up any real grass and topsoil that’s in the area you want your artificial lawn to be in, making sure the ground is even and flat.
Sand Layer
Add a 30mm deep layer of sharp sand or Grano to help even out the surface further, giving your artificial grass a good and solid base.
Roll Out Grass
Line up your joints neatly and connect them using our self-adhesive tape which connects the backing of the grass. One roll of tape will connect a 4 metre long join.
Cut Grass to Shape and Fix in Place
Fold back your artificial grass to the boundary and cut the backing with a sharp Stanley knife so that it fits your space perfectly. Using flat head Fixing Pins, hammer them into place around the perimeter of your artificial grass to secure it in place. Alternatively, you could use an alternative edging system such as Steel Edges or VertEdge.
Brush The Grass
To finish off, give your artificial grass a good brush before getting the deckchairs out, and enjoying your new, low maintenance garden space.

This can be done with a soft brush or a power brush to make things easier. Every so often nip out and brush the area to keep leaves and debris from making the grass dirty.
